THE SHOP
Just off Sherborne’s cobbled high street is our deli – Sabins. Established over 25 years ago, we moved in in 2006. The shop has bags of rustic charm and we have packed it to the ceiling with fresh and ambient gourmet products – a great number of which we make fresh in our kitchen. Words such as ‘cornucopia’ and ‘eclectic’ have been used in the past to describe the look and product range we offer but above all we want people to leave the shop thinking more like ‘irresistable’, ‘delicious’ and ‘local’.
We have deliberately created an ‘Aladdin’s cave’ feel for the place. One regular describes it as his ‘mini Fortnum’s’.
We have a large counter packed full of over 50 varieties of British & Continental cheese.
A fresh produce counter full of patés, quiches, charcuterie, pies, dairy and savoury tarts.
A freezer full of puddings and home-cooked meals, and shelves from floor to ceiling crammed with jars, tins or boxes of products you wouldn’t normally find in a supermarket.
Sherborne is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful towns in England. With its abundance of medieval buildings, superb Abbey, world famous Schools, picturesque Almshouse and two Castles, Sherborne has much to offer visitors. Ideally located on the Dorset and Somerset border it has excellent transport links enabling the town to flourish and making it a fine centre for those wishing to explore the delightful and unspoilt Wessex area of Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. |
